I didn't expect fog this morning. My laziness was kicking in at the sight of fog and I wanted to go back to bed! I told myself that I would feel better if I went out for a run and I'd get over my laziness. The fog was dense enough that I couldn't see 500 feet in front of me, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Around mile 2.5, I got concerned that it would rain on me. I felt some water drops fall on me, but that was from running under trees. At that point, I had an option of changing my route...I thought about sticking to my original distance (5.5 miles) or cutting it short, making it a mile less. I decided that the water drops I felt came from the trees because I felt nothing in open areas, so I stuck to my original plan/distance. I felt better and relieved for making that decision after a few minutes because the fog got thinner and the sky got brighter.
I also decided that I don't want to run the
L.A.-Chinatown Firecracker 10K race next weekend (Feb. 12). For now, I think I fixed my boredom and lack of motivation. I think I just needed to change my running route and distance (adding more miles). It seemed that was all I needed to do because I feel normal again with running.
