Week 48: Day 6 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN (solo) = 4.3 miles
  • easy WALK with dogs = 2.6 miles

Saturdays are normally my rest days and Sundays are my run days, but I decided to run this morning instead because I plan to do a volunteer group walk (with rescue dogs) tomorrow morning. The pet rescue shelter that I go volunteer at has group walks with the rescue dogs every Sunday morning at 8:45am. I'd like to think I can make it to every group walks, but I'm not sure how long I can keep it up since I like to sleep in (rest day) on Saturday mornings. There aren't that many days that I get to sleep in without sacrificing my running schedule.

Also, while I have looked up some Christmas/New Year's 10k races, I'm not 100% if I will sign up. I found a race on Christmas Day and on New Year's Eve (morning). But both events have a 5k, 10k, 15k and a half marathon. I want to do the half marathon because well...GO BIG or GO HOME! But at the rate that I'm going for running, I'm way under trained for the half and the 15k.

Week 48: Day 5 - 2015

  • easy RUN with one dog = 3.2 miles
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.35 miles
I didn't do a run in a week and a half. Low motivation + laziness has kicked in. Also, I needed to catch up on sleep. When I go for a run, I'm on five hours of sleep and I can never go back to sleep for a nap after my run. I should probably stop staying up so late listening to the radio if I want to be asleep by 10pm! Maybe I should have signed up for a turkey trot.

When I did my run this morning, I still didn't feel like running and had to take a few walk breaks. Maybe I should look for any holiday/Christmas 10k races.

Week 47: Day 2 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN with one dog = 3.25 miles
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 2.4 miles
I think I'm losing motivation to run. I don't know why because I did take a break for a week after my two 10k races over two weeks ago. I generally don't take walk breaks during a short, easy run, but I took a short walk break during my easy run this morning. I was going to run tomorrow morning, but I will take a rest day. I hope I feel better to run again on Thursday.

Week 47: Day 1 - 2015

  • easy bike ride = 7.35 miles
  • easy walk with dogs = 2.7 miles
Finally got in a bike ride today and it felt nice. Now I need to find the motivation to keep riding regularly every week like I can for running.

Week 46: Day 7 - 2015

  • easy trail/road RUN (solo) = 6 miles
  • easy WALK with dogs = 2.25 miles
Total Running Weekly Mileage: 17.75
Total Running Monthly Mileage: 24.25
Total Running Yearly Mileage: 375.98
Total Running Shoe Mileage: 77.98

I did my run without my dog this morning. I just felt like running solo for no reason. I think my dog needs a rest sometimes anyway and doesn't need to run with me everytime.

Week 46: Day 5 - 2015

  • easy trail/road RUN with one dog = 4.75 miles
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.35 miles
  • easy WALK with several rescue dogs (Priceless Pets) = 3.7 miles
  • easy WALK to Panera Bread (for knitting group) = 3.2 miles roundtrip
I did a lot of walking today! I generally don't like to walk for exercise, but when it involves a purpose like walking dogs (dogs need exercise too) or to meet someone somewhere, I'll go for a walk. A purpose like that is primary reason. General exercise is secondary reason.

Week 46: Day 3 - 2015

  • easy RUN with one dog = 3.75 miles
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.5 miles
I miss having cold mornings, but where were they last month when I had my two 10k runs??!!

Week 46: Day 2 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN with one dog = 3.25 miles
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.5 miles
I checked the weather forecast over the weekend. It had rain for yesterday evening and this morning. We didn't have any rain yesterday and I was glad that it was clear and sunny this morning. While I was glad that I didn't have to miss a run because of rain, we still need rain. After my run, it got very windy. It was also very dry (as in opposite of humidity) and the wind didn't help at all. When I touch a person (or dog, cat, living being) and metal things like my car door, I get an electric shock. My face feels very dry for several hours even though I put lotion on it. So far, my hair hasn't been static-y or clingy. I like cold weather, but I don't like windy or dry conditions. We really need rain so I don't get electric shock or static or a dry face.

Week 42: Day 5 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN (solo) = 4.48 miles, time = 51:45. pace @ 11:33
  • easy WALK with dogs = 2.5 miles
Since I was lazy and didn't do a run yesterday, I decided to do one this morning. Laziness sucks and I don't know I'm being lazy when it is so nice and cold/cool in the mornings now. Because now that it's cooler in the mornings, I seem to be running a little faster. If I can lose some weight, I can go back to the pace that I used to have (9:45 mpm).

Week 42: Day 3 - 2015

  • hilly trail RUN with one dog = 1.1 mile
    • warm up (jog/walk) = 1.1 mile
    • cool down (jog/walk) = 1.1 mile
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.55 miles
This morning was so nice and COLD (although I would prefer colder)! I love it! But whatever happen to cold mornings last month???

Tuesday, November 3, 2015

Week 42: Day 2 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN with one dog = 3.25 miles
  • easy WALK with three dogs = 2.25 miles
Cold mornings are finally here! I love cold mornings and I love running in them...you will never hear me complain about them! I'm totally in my element now. Although I prefer 37 or 39 degrees, I'll take 50-something degrees too.

Week 41: Day 7 - 2015

  • easy WALK with dogs = 2.25 miles
  • hiking with meetup group = 7 miles
Total Running Weekly Mileage: 3.3
Total Running Monthly (October) Mileage: 62.89
Total Running Yearly Mileage: 351.73
Total Running Shoe Mileage: 53.73

I had plan to run four times this week. Instead, I only did one run. I was also going to do a run this morning, but decided at the last minute (last night) to do a hike with a group. I don't hike as often as I'd like, but I like the hike leader. I'm a little sore and I'm surprised that I'm not more sore considering that the last time that I hiked was a year ago. I'm happy for any improvements though!

I should be back on my regularly running schedule by Tuesday.
