Week 1: Day 2 - 31 January 2019

  • morning run = 2.68 miles; time = 39:51; average pace @ 14:52
  • walked dogs = 2.6 miles total
My 2018 in review (stats are not 100% accurate as they are from Garmin)
- One 10K (run) event
- 12 hikes
- Total running mileage: 887.95
- Total cycling mileage: 2320.98

My original goal for cycling/bike was to ride 1,800 miles. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to meet that goal because it rained so much at the beginning of the year. I didn't have any running goals for the year. Now that I'm in a better financial situation, I can afford a half marathon in 2020. Because of this, my running goal for 2020 is to run 1,000 miles. Hopefully, the plan to run a half marathon will help me run regularly, four times a week. My other goal is to update my blog regularly so I can actually keep track of my mileage for both bike and running.

Week 1: Day 1 - 30 December 2019

  • morning run = 3.34 miles; time = 52:19; average pace @ 15:40
  • walked dogs = 2.3 miles total
Let's try this whole fitness blogging thing. I think because of my current job with way more hours and during daytime hours than what I was used to, it took me a while to get used it my new work schedule. It also didn't help that I had been running regularly at 5am since May. So I was always tired. I think I'm okay with my schedule now. I have a 10k run event, 40 mile bike event (same weekend as the 10k) and a 35 mile bike ride event. I think I need to sign up for a half marathon (October most likely) so I have a reason to keep running. I really wanted to run four days a week, but was always tired and lazy so I would run three days a week most of the time. Occasionally, there would be weeks with no runs and this bugs me. So I need to get back on track. Cheers to a new year?
