Week 4: Day 5 - 2015

  • trail/road RUN with one dog = 6.7 miles, time = 1:21:33, pace @ 12:10
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 2 miles
Finished my last training run for the half marathon race. Tomorrow is rest day and I pick up my race packet at the race expo. I don't have to work tomorrow night, so I can make sure that I get to bed early for plenty of rest!

I was hoping for an overcast sky or very cold temperature on Sunday morning. I guess I can suck it up and deal with cold temperatures at the start time and slightly warm (60-ish degrees) temperature by the time I finish. Not exactly my ideal weather, but I guess it's better than 70+ degrees.

Week 4: Day 3 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN with one dog = 5.1 miles, time = 1:03:01, pace @ 12:21
  • easy walk with two dogs = 2.1 miles
I'm tired and I want to take a nap! I attempted to take a nap this afternoon, but I couldn't fall asleep! I hope I can take a nap on Friday afternoon before I head to work. I'm tired and I don't feel too motivated to run. I did run this morning, but I just couldn't get into it.

Week 4: Day 2 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN (solo) = 3.1 miles
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 2.1 miles
I forgot to press the start time for my run this morning. Whoops. Oh well.

I have a dilemma. I'm not officially done training, but I'm bored of running and I don't want to run anymore. After the race this weekend, I still have another four weeks to train/run because I have a 10k on March 1. I can't officially take a break just yet.

Week 3: Day 5 - 2015

  • trail/road RUN with one dog = 6 miles, time = 1:13:34, pace @ 12:14
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 1.5 miles
I didn't want to run this morning, but I told myself that if I did, I could reward myself with sleep/nap. I did my run, but I had a hard time going back to sleep. Tomorrow is a rest day, so maybe I'll have a better luck catching up on my sleep.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Week 3: Day 3 - 2015

  • easy trail RUN (solo) = 3 miles, time = 35:27, pace @ 11:40
  • easy WALK with dogs = 1.65 miles
I wasn't going to run this morning. Mainly because I was being lazy and wanted to sleep in until it was time to get ready for work. I didn't have to be at work until 11am, but I told myself that if I get a run in early, I'll feel better when I'm at work. I feel more alert and awake when I run right before work. Too bad, I didn't really feel less stressed.

Week 3: Day 2 - 2015

  • trail RUN with one dog = 4.83 miles, time = 59:20, pace @ 12:04
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 2 miles
I almost didn't want to run this morning (laziness kicked in), but I did it. I also need to get back into cycling. I haven't been doing it and I know that I have to. Not that I'm training for a competitive race for a time, but I am doing a 20 mile bike event in six weeks. Even though it'll be for fun, I'll be very sore without some form of cycling training followed by a 10k race for the next day.

Week 2: Day 7 = 2015

  • LONG RUN (solo) = 12.04 miles, time = 1:18:37, pace @ 11:31
  • WALK with rescue dogs at Pet Rescue = 3.6 miles
  • easy WALK with my dogs = 1.55 miles
Total Running Weekly Mileage: 23.34
Total Running Monthly Mileage: 50.79
Total Running Yearly Mileage: 50.79
Total Running Shoe Mileage: 300.59

Two more weeks left until race day. I can't wait for it. Then after that, I have another four weeks to train/run for a 10K race. I'm ready for a break from running.

Friday, January 16, 2015

Week 2: Day 5 - 2015

  • easy trail/road run (solo) = 6 miles, time = 1:10:08; pace @ 11:41
  • easy walk with dogs = 1.25 miles
I think I'm battle a case of laziness and not bad motivation. I have a hard time getting out for a run, but once I get out and start running, it felt nice and good. I need to fight this laziness, so I can finish training!

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Week 2: Day 2 - 2015

  • road RUN (solo) = 5.3 miles, time = 59:31, pace @ 11:12
  • easy walk with dogs = 2.36 miles
Finally got a run in today since Friday. I wanted to run yesterday, but didn't because I had a case of laziness. Plus, I wasn't in the habit of running on Mondays. I almost didn't want to run today, but finally made myself get out at noon. I rarely get started on a run after 10:30am. If I don't start by that time, I will never run later in the day and will have no motivation to do it.

Week 1: Day 7 - 2015

  • easy walk with dogs = 1.1 miles
Total Running Weekly Mileage: 9.95
Total Running Monthly Mileage: 27.45
Total Running Yearly Mileage: 27.45
Total Running Shoe Mileage: 277.25

I'm updating mainly to keep track of my total mileage.

This week hasn't been good. I missed a short run due to a severe lack of motivation. Caught up with some much needed sleep and felt better by Friday. If I didn't have to work so late on Friday night, I would have gotten a short run yesterday morning.

It had been raining all day today. Of all the half marathons that I trained for before (not including the one I'm currently training for), today was the first time that I missed a major run. Thanks, Mother Nature. It probably didn't negatively (and definitely not positively) affect my overall training though. While I don't mind rain in general or doing a short run (five miles or less) in the rain, I didn't want to do an entire 11 mile run in the rain. I was afraid of getting hit by a car who couldn't stop because of slippery roads. I have enough problems with drivers in dry weather. By the time the rain "let up" and "downgraded" to a light drizzle (I'll tolerate light drizzle during a long run), it was already too late and half of my run would be in the dark. I don't like running in the dark. I also have enough problems with drivers who aren't paying attention or can't see me during the daytime. Nighttime makes it harder or drivers to see running or walking pedestrians. I also knew someone who ran at 5AM. He wore reflective clothes, lights and everything that made himself more visible to drivers. People still couldn't see him.

I normally don't run on Mondays, out of habit, because Mondays are usually my rest days. I will get a run in tomorrow. I already missed a run for the week...meaning I was suppose to run at least three days a week. I ran two days instead. I also can't miss more than more two days of running. I must run!

Friday, January 9, 2015

Week 1: Day 5 - 2015

  • trail/road run with one dog = 6.6 miles, time = 1:20:15, pace @ 12:10
  • easy walk with two dogs = 1.45 miles
After catching up on my sleep, I'm finally ready to run again. My motivation was ok today and didn't crash like on my last run.

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Week 1: Day 2 - 2015

  • easy RUN with one dog = 5.35 miles, time = 1:05:55, pace @ 12:19
  • easy WALK with two dogs = 1.3 miles
My motivation crashed again. I wanted to cut my run short because I didn't want to run, but I made myself do the distance that I had planned. I tried to take a nap today, but no such luck because I wasn't tired.

Also, one of my New Year's resolutions/goals was to stretch more often, at minimum, right after a run. I forgot to stretch after my run last Friday, but I made sure to stretch after running on Sunday and today. I'm not as flexible as I used to be because I stopped stretching.

Week --? 2015

  • long RUN (solo) = 10.8 miles, time = 2:12:47, pace @ 12:13
  • easy WALK with dogs = 1.3 miles
Total Running Weekly Mileage: 25.9
Total Running Monthly (January) Mileage: 17.5
Total Running Monthly (December) Mileage: 100.23
Total Running Yearly (2015) Mileage: 17.5
Total Running Yearly (2014) Mileage: 690.24
Total Running Shoe Mileage: 267.3

I didn't do my long run yesterday like I wanted. I had a work meeting this morning and went for a run after the meeting. I think I probably should have gone running yesterday morning instead. I don't know why I was so afraid of the weather just because it was over 60 degrees yesterday if I had just gone out at 9am.

I also changed my route in the middle of my run. I thought I would have still been well over eleven (11) miles. Whoops. I should still be ok for my next long run.

Friday, January 2, 2015

Week --? 2015

  • trail/road run with one dog = 6.7 miles, time 1:22:09, pace @ 12:10
  • easy walk with two dogs = 2 miles
I think I need to catch up on my sleep. I attempted to take a nap today. I hope it's enough that my motivation won't crash for my 11 mile run tomorrow morning. My motivation is starting to crash again.

Also, I've come to realize that I should have took notes and wrote down where I went running for all my long runs for 9 miles to 11 miles. I'm running almost the same routes for each long run every week and it's getting hard to figure out where I'm going for them.
