Why is working out with dumbells harder than weight machines? There are two kinds of dumbells at the gym. One kind is made of all steel/metal while the other kind is half plastic (the wide circular things on the sides) and half steal (or alunimum?). Those feel lighter than the dumbells made of all steel/metal. Surely, my shoulders will be sore tomorrow because I used the dumbells made of steel instead of the lighter kind. No pain, no gain, right?
